Race Hatred and the Comfortable Contemporary American Christian

KKK-Nast

Friends of Padre Steve’s World,

I ran across a blog yesterday that sickened me. It is written by a woman in Louisiana who claims to be a Christian, but based on her own words wonder. Her article was to defend as a martyr a white woman in Texas who killed her daughters when she discovered that her eldest daughter desired to marry a Latino man. It wasn’t enough for the woman to merely punish her daughters but she had to kill them. The woman had long standing mental illness issues and had been denied a permit to own a weapon because of them. But according to this supposedly Christian blogger she killed her daughters because race-mixing is a sin. How the blogger superimposed her racist ideology on the murderer is beyond me. There may be more to the story that I don’t know, if there is, and if the woman that this blogger idealizes as a Christian martyr held those same beliefs the case is even more chilling.

The words of the blogger are chilling. The woman describes herself in these words:

My name is Jennifer Juanita Mayers. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I am happily married and a mother to three wonderful daughters.  I enjoy graphic design, interior design, luxury furniture and an overall fashionable lifestyle.

I demand the best things in life because I deserve it.  When you expect the best, you receive the best.

Some people find me and my opinions abrasive but I live for Jesus Christ and every single word that I speak, think, or type is done in His name.  He chose me as his Messenger incarnate when I was a small child.

Few will ever know the pain and suffering of crucifixion.  We share that pain together.  We are ONE.

Without getting into details the woman obviously has some delusions about the Christian faith which are shared by many Christians of our era, but I am not going to dissect that faith today as I have written much about it in the past.

What I want to discuss is her passionate race hatred and her justification of cold-blooded murder in the name of racial purity. Her words reminded me of the Nazi laws on racial purity as well as American laws which forbade inter-racial marriage up until Loving v. Virginia overturned them in 1967. She writes in her article “America’s Martyr: NO Race Mixing:”

Friends, I invite you to ponder the image above.  The beautiful woman is Christy Sheats.  The Texas wife and mother who is being vilified in the media for shooting and killing her teenage daughters.  It makes for a great headline in mainstream media but what goes unsaid is even more powerful.

A devout Republican and gun rights advocate, she no doubt discovered that both of her daughters had been promiscuous and were sleeping with black boys and she took it upon herself to put an end to that cycle.  She was brave enough to stand up and say ENOUGH!  Not in MY house! And she should be lauded.

Race mixing is not only an ungodly thing, it causes such confusion and humiliation.  Not only for the children born of this sin, but for the grandparents who would have to carry this burden. Mrs. Sheats was the picture of elegance and I know she would not want to have to explain to her friends why she was carrying around a yellow mixed baby that her promiscuous daughters had created.

Rather than be forced into this life of depravity and sin, she chose to go down grasping her weapon in the name of God.  As far as I am concerned, she is a martyr for Christ.

“It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away, but that’s exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns,” she wrote in March, along with an anti-gun control video.

She was just your typical wife and mother, doing everything she could to protect her children from the promiscuous and sinful life that they had become sucked into.

Before we slander her name or make her out to be a villain, I think we should take a moment of silence and appreciate her bravery and her devout Will to die for Christ.

A martyr indeed, my friends.  And Glory be to God, as always for HE is in control.

xoxo

Jenn

I don’t know about you friend, but what I see in this is absolutely frightening. The fact that this woman argues that a murderer is justified for racial purity and calls the person who does it a martyr when she dies in a shootout with the police is truly either mentally ill herself, or embodies an evil that is unimaginable for most people.

I did some checking around and this woman has a Twitter account which was suspended at least for a while last year. When it was she posted a short blog post saying that it was “a discrimination of my FREE SPEECH that Jesus Christ died in order for me to have. This is a crime against my faith.  Against my beliefs.  This is a crucifixion in the highest order.  President Trump will NEVER stand for this.”

The fact that she is both ignorant of the Constitution and the Christian faith is par for the course nowadays but her screeds put her in a fairly small cloud-cuckoo land that is usually inhabited by a small number of neo-Nazis.

But her blog (in between her tips on how to live a luxurious life) contains even more racist rants than the article I have cited. Her posts read like Julius Streicher’s Der Sturmer. She has other posts including one calling Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “black trash” on the MLK holiday, writing about “lesser races” and going into anti-Islamic and pro-Muslim ban rants in support of the President. In another she calls abortion as being the only thing worse than being black but approves of it “if the baby is mongoloid.  That is a true burden that I would not carry, nor would I expect any woman to suffer.  It would be an embarrassment to me and my family and I could not allow an imperfection like that in my hone.  And I do not have the time or patience to raise one of those.”

She also writes anti-LGBTQ screeds, and about deporting all blacks from the country. The sad thing is that with the advent of President Trump such thoughts and actions are again in vogue.

I looked through some of the comments on her page and quite a few were supportive of her. I guess that is even more concerning to me. I will not provide the link to her blog, but you can Google her and find it.

Anyway… Try to think some happy thoughts,

Until tomorrow,

Peace

Here are the key words IMO she lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I for one do not feed my spirit with the poison that makes me sick like politics and “religion.”
Though I am a Christian I realize my values are not the same as those who believe that they are Christians and should have their values.
I posted a picture on my FB page of the progression of my healing of my feet which is why I have not taken part in blogs in the last year.
Its been a brutal year and I am still physically sick I dont want to make myself emotionally or spiritually sick by taking part in hatred of anyone.
I have dear friends who feed their spirit with the junk that is making everyone so upset. I cant control what happens in the world only how I respond to it.
Anyway on the picture I have a picture of a rainbow colored pedicure.
People have mistaken me for “religious” and got all bent out of shape over my pedicure. I am celebrating life and how I chose to do it offends people SMH.
Religion and politics stink! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The sin issue was taken care of at the cross.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Dear Padre Steve:
I just read your post about the racist woman who killed her daughters. I am also appalled! People like that woman, present a difficult problem for everyone who is fighting for progress in America today because they are stuck in the past when the KKK ruled in the south to the extent that no person was allowed to date or marry with anyone of a different “race” or else be killed. The KKK called itself a “Christian” organization, and it still does, I think. This perversion of Christianity in the way that Hitler perverted Christianity has been around in this country for centuries, unfortunately. It is based on fear, ignorance, greed and predjudicial misinformation. Many southern ministers and evangelical preachers promote these attitudes because they are also prejudiced.
African Americans who were brought here against their will by white men for slaves, could not have been made into slaves and treated the way they were if they were seen as equals to the white people who enslaved them. The slave owners would say things like black people were: unable to learn to read, stupid, unable to be civilized because they were more savage, more violent, more like an animal and therefore more sexually violent, physically violent, more prone to crime and sin, and needed to be treated more harshly and under the control of white men. They believed that they were civilizing the African Americans, just like they believed that they were helping the Native Americans by taking their children away to boarding schools and forcing them to give up their heritage in order to adopt white culture only to lose their real identities and even when they had adopted white culture, they were still never accepted because they looked different. Some of these statements about helping to civilize people were just ways to avoid feeling guilty for how badly these people were being treated and exploited and robbed by whites. White people, after all, did commit genocide of the Native Americans in order to possess this country for themselves. White people enslaved and mistreated African Americans and Chinese Americans also.
The Book of Mormon, for instance, says that Jesus turned the Native Americans’ skin dark as a punishment for refusing to accept Jesus’ spirit during some (imagined) visitation he made to America before Europeans came to America. This is another excuse for racist beliefs. The book states that darker skinned peoples are more sinful than lighter skinned races and are being punished by God. This is all total hogwash, of course! After I read this in the Book of Mormon, I decided that Mormonism was a made up or “fake” religion.
Mormonism is not the only “fake” Christianity occurring today in America. I am deeply offended also by dominionism and reconstructionism. These perversions of Christianity are being used to confuse people and to justify racist, sexist, and homophobic attitudes. In addition, dominionism states that God is rewarding the wealthy and punishing the poor for being lazy and the sick for being wicked, therefore we do not have to care about one another because that would be interfearing with the will of God. This is total rubbish, of course, but there are many thousands of people being deceived by this. This is the religion that the Koch brothers practice so that they can justify their greed and selfishness and cruelty. The Koch brothers finance the Republican Party and are controlling its agenda with access to almost unlimited amounts of money. They are planning to spend 400 million dollars on the 2018 midterm election, in an attempt to keep democrats out of Congress. They have even more money, if the republicans need it. They want to make America into a dictatorship like Putin’s Russia. This explains the Russian interfearence in our election in favor of Putin-friendly Trump. The Russians also are very old school anti- homosexual Christians who tend towards a desire for “racial purity”.
All of this racism and fear of race mixing is a lot of rubbish to me because I see the body as being only the vessel that contains the soul that dies at our death when we get our new eternal spiritual bodies after death. To me this is like we are caterpillars now, and when we die our dead bodies are like the cocoon that we shed when we become butterflies in our eternal life. Why should people be so concerned over our physical bodies? Our bodies last only about one hundred years at best, but our soul is eternal. Our souls are more important. Why are so many people so obsessed with skin darkness? It is only that some people have more melanin in their skin than others. Increased melanin helps to protect against sunburn and skin cancer in parts of the world with too much sun. White people, like myself are always trying to get a tan, so why do darker skinned people make some of us so mad? Are we just jealous of their beautiful dark skin? I like to say that there is only one race, the human race. Unfortunately, there are too many people who would disagree with me. Some people would hate me or treat me violently for saying that.
My first romantic love was for a beautiful half Jamaican, half Irish man who I will always love forever until the day I die. He will be he last thing I think about when I die. Unfortunately, we were like Romeo and Juliet and doomed to be separated forever. I had to let him go for his sake because my white Irish-English family would never accept him as a son-in-law. I did not want my father to continue to threaten him with death or violence or jail. I loved him too much to see him hurt so I let him go. I am sixty years old now and alone and I still miss him dearly. It will always hurt me. But what else could I do? I never found anyone else that I felt as close to, even my husband. My white husband was so abusive that I left him after less than a year of marriage. I have one son. I will never remarry because I believe the words of Christ in the Gospel and I do not want to commit adultery. I have found a higher love in God. I love all of God’s creation, including all kinds of people, even when they are behaving horribly. I only wish everyone the best because there are all kinds of different kinds of flowers in God’s garden of humanity. It would be boring if we were all the same. I just wish that other people could see the beauty in our human diversity.
I saw a supermodel once who was tri-racial. She was part German, part African, and part Asian and she had some of the best physical characteristics of all of these different aspects of her genetics. She was tall and slender with pale bronze colored skin. She had long blonde curly hair and Asian-looking slanted blue eyes with high cheekbones. She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I realize that not every person of mixed race will be supermodel beautiful on the outside as she was, but she is a good example of why we shouldn’t be so opposed to their being more mixed people like her. My vet says mutts are healthier than purbreeds. So human mutts (multiracial people) might have genetic and physical advantages that have been overlooked. I just don’t understand foolish reasons for predjudcial attitudes. I think that unusual people are cool and interesting. Why be boring and conventional?
It was a great thing when Barack Obama became our president. I was so happy that I cried. It took us so long to see that an African American man could be a good man who was qualified to be our president. But for many American people this was very threatening. Some white men, who are used to having all the privaledge in our society, are feeling threatened by having to compete with black men or Asian men or women. Then our society went so far as to ask for equal rights for gay people, or even transgender people. For many people this was gong much too far. They weren’t ready for that! There is a fear among some white people that other races will become the majority of the population in America and that white people will be in the minority. I don’t really see why this is such a big issue if we don’t discriminate against anyone, but they see this as a potential or actual loss of power, and a threat. White men are used to being the big cheese in charge and having all the power In our society and now they have to follow rules made by a black man. They voted against Hillary Clinton, in many cases, because these same white men were not going to follow rules made by a white woman either. They felt too threatened. I overheard some white men talking about this during the 2016 campaign and saying just that.
There are evil internal forces in America today. They want to divide and conquer us and they are encouraging us to indulge in hate and fear. The old fears and hatreds are being stirred up intentionally by talk show hosts, TV pundits, and even ministers. Many are being paid large sums of money by billionaires who want absolute power in this country. They get men to fight with women, gays and straights fighting, black and white people, Christians and Muslims, pro-life vs pro-choice, citizens and immigrants, democrats and republicans, environmentalists vs industrialists and fossil fuels, all encouraged to come into conflict with each other. This is bad because united we stand, divided we fall. A house or country divided against itself cannot stand. We must realize that we are stronger together. E pluribus unum, means one nation out of many people and is the motto of our country. We need to embrace our wonderful diversity as a strength, not a weakness. We must do things that are best for all Americans and what is best for all of God’s creation. If we do not then we are all doomed to terrible wars, famine, disease, and global environmental destruction. Greed and lies are not good for us. It is time for all people to stand up and be counted. Are we sheep or goats? Are we for the Christ of the Gospel or his enemies?
I plan to try to use the double-edged sword of truth from the Gospel, with love, in humility to God, to get out a message of faith, brotherly love, truth and unity to anyone who will listen, so that we can work together for the common good of all creation to the best of our ability. May God give us the strength to do His will.

I’m not picking on your poor hate filled and possibly sociopathic friend… If you don’t get that then stay away. No more comments of yours will be approved.

  5. Valerie (the real one and I will provide proof)

    Padre,

I do not know who the person above is, however I will tell you that I am the Valerie that this sociopath has been impersonating on her blog and stalking for well over a year now. I would please welcome you to reach me via twitter @valerie_rae so I may prove this to you and possibly we can find a way together to stop this lunatic. I do not need you to approve this post from me… I do not know how many times this impersonator has attempted to contact you. I will provide any proof necessary or that you would like. I need to gather a case to get this person to stop impersonating me, WordPress will not stop without a court order, which I do not know how to obtain on a troll. All I know is the email address that they are using above is the same as the email address used on her blog, as the avatars are the same. You’ll see mine is different. I’ve also provided my true email address. Please help me.

    • padresteve

Valerie, I wish I knew what to do. I have dealt with trolls but none that ever impersonated me. I blocked her after her first comment and have no idea if she has ever tried to come back. I do wish you well in trying to stop her.
