Friends of Padre Steve’s World, A Sunday Shout out to Jill Dennison. This is the fascinating back story to Elton John’s song Nikita published by Jill Dennison. Sine we were stationed in West Germany in 1985 and traveled to East Berlin in 1986 the song brought back so many images from life on the far side of the Wall and Intra-German Border. The areas still not rebuilt following WWII, the long lines in stores, the ever present ORPO or Ordungspolizei, the invisible STASI, and the border guards. Brought back many memories.
