It is a busy Saturday working around the house, working up in my attic and taking care of things that need to be done. So today a I am re-posting something that I wrote over a year ago, but with all the controversy over religious rights going on I figured that this would be a good read for those interested in a pretty good historical treatment of the subject. Religious freedom is a central tenant of the Bill of Rights and has been a central facet of American life since our inception as a country, in fact pre-dating our founding in some of the original 13 colonies most notably Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.
