A Day to Promote other Blogs and Work on my Book

Friends of Padre Steve’s World,

Today has been a day for me to promote some excellent blogs that I follow. I posted them on this site and posted them on Facebook and Twitter. Most deal with history, although others deal with art, music, archeology, architecture, law, humor, and current events. They include American, French, and English bloggers.

We have also been taking care of Minnie as she makes her slow but now steady recovery. I expect it will take longer, but she is looking and acting better.

I have also been working on editing my book.

So I will end here and wish you all a good night.

Peace,

Padre Steve+

History Painting: ‘Capture of Joan of Arc’ by Adolf-Alexander Dillens, circa 1850.

Another blog that I follow and recommend, especially for art admirers and historians.

Jacky nous écrit… Pierre Lagace is a French blogger I follow. I know enough French to read it pretty well, but if you don’t you can always use Google Translate or open in Chrome which provides a translation option. Most deals with military history, and he occasionally posts in English. His purpose is to remember the fallen.

Fen Court Garden and the Abolition of Slavery

I totally recommend Stephen Liddell’s blog. He is English and much of what he writes deals with English history, and architecture.

Shipping Them Home at the End of WWII

If you like the obscure parts of Military History, and want to know more about little known aspects of the end of the Pacific War and after, I strongly recommend Greg Cox’s Pacific Paratrooper blog. He is consistently good in presenting the history, especially at the individual and unit level. If you are interested, his is a good blog to follow.

Flower Power!

For those of you under fifty, the above cartoon references the famous photograph from 1967 by Bernie Boston of the Washington Star.

Flower Power!

This is what I was referring to in my last reboot of Over the Hedge. I recommend the comic which can be found on gocomics.com as well as the blog.

♫ (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay ♫.

I highly recommend Jill’s blog which deals mostly with music, as well as some social and political commentary. But this song always reminds me of visiting San Francisco Bay as a kid and any time that I go home.
